Safeguarding
Local authorities have overarching statutory responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in their area. Whilst local authorities play a lead role, safeguarding children and protecting them from harm is everyone’s responsibility. Whilst Danes Educational Trust is not the sole agency with responsibility for safeguarding awareness of safeguarding issues, the implementation of good practices and robust procedures are key to effective safeguarding across all schools and stakeholders within our Trust.
Our safeguarding strategy sets out how Danes Educational Trust can continue to improve its performance in safeguarding children and young people and also through its own actions, encourage and enable our schools to make their own contributions to safeguarding. This is both our moral and statutory responsibility.
The Trust has adopted a common Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy that has been supplemented by the individual schools to reflect their own local procedures and processes. Our common policy template and overarching Trust Safeguarding strategy can be found below.
